Too Late came from that gnawing question some of us wrestle with. Am I too messed up to be forgiven? Have I blown it too many times to be loved?

SINCE WHEN

I brought in a little voice memo of me singing something about “I need to find something new to do with my life” - the melody that would become since when was already there. The guys dug the vibe, but felt like the concept needed work. Then we got to talking about the pressure many people feel to find some larger than life existence. Next thing I know, those words just popped into my head and I started singing “since when since when is it not enough to work a job that’s just a job and take care of the people you love.” We were off to the races. The song came together fairly quickly after that. As soon as it was done I had this thought that having Drew and Ellie Holcomb sing it with me would sound amazing. I am so grateful they said yes. We’ve all been friends since our days at UT in Knoxville.
